Electrical Training Officer
Location: Home-based with travel across the London area
Salary: Up to £39,250 depending on experience and skills
Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week

As an Electrical Training Officer, you will support the next generation of electricians by delivering high-quality assessment, guidance, and mentoring to apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with employers to secure apprenticeship placements and ensure understanding of training and assessment requirements
- Promote career opportunities in the electrical industry to schools, colleges, and local communities
- Conduct apprentice reviews and skills gap assessments to ensure candidates are on the correct pathway
- Carry out pre-placement checks and maintain compliance with safeguarding and health & safety procedures
- Assess apprentice evidence against industry standards and provide constructive feedback
- Set clear learning objectives and support apprentices towards successful completion of their programs
- Monitor progress, identify learners at risk, and arrange interventions to support timely achievement
- Prepare apprentices for end-point assessments and confirm readiness at the gateway
- Build strong working relationships with employers, apprentices, and other stakeholders
- Maintain professional knowledge and CPD in line with current industry standards

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Qualified Electrician, NVQ Level 3, Electrotechnical NVQ3, or equivalent
- Industry experience as a qualified operative/practitioner
- Current IET wiring regulations knowledge (18th Edition) or willingness to update
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
Desirable:
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely)
- Assessor qualifications (D32, D33, A1 or TAQA)
- 2391 or equivalent Testing and Inspection qualification
- Experience in building services engineering and related industries
