Are you a hands-on automotive expert with a passion for teaching, developing, and inspiring others? We’re seeking a Technical Training Specialist who can combine deep technical knowledge with strong training and project development skills.

This is a 50/50 role, balancing practical training delivery with technical course development. You’ll be the go-to person for high-level technical projects and also ensure the training programmes are engaging, up-to-date and effective.

Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery:

  • Conduct assessments to ensure learning objectives are met and standards maintained.
  • Provide cover for training sessions as required, including regional delivery or special projects.
  • Act as a point of contact for external training requests, including support for specialist initiatives.
  • Maintain strong communication with teams, ensuring updates and technical information are clearly shared.

Course Development & Project Management:

  • Design, write, and continuously improve technical courses to ensure content is current and relevant.
  • Lead projects independently, from concept through to implementation, including international or emergency services projects.
  • Ensure courses are structured for effective learning and maintain all certification and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain course materials, ensuring high-quality delivery across the network.
  • Monitor industry developments to ensure training programmes reflect the latest technologies and processes.

Collaboration & Administration:

  • Work closely with line managers, assessors, and delivery teams to coordinate training schedules.
  • Support accreditation processes and ensure delegates receive accurate certification.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including reporting, scheduling, and communications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to cover training sessions during absences or holidays.
  • Uphold health and safety standards in all training activities and course designs.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Master-level automotive technician with proven hands-on experience in the sector.
  • Experience in technical training delivery or the potential to quickly transition into a trainer role.
  • Strong project management skills, able to take ownership of initiatives from start to finish.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ideally Adobe InDesign.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and solution-focused, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating others and managing multiple stakeholders.

Ideal Background:
This role is well suited to experienced automotive professionals looking to move into training and development. Typical backgrounds may include:

  • Master Technician / Senior Technician / Service Technician
