About the Role
Our client is seeking a Vocational Studies Teacher specialising in Construction. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching to pupils with complex needs.
The role focuses on engaging and re-engaging students through a personalised and supportive learning environment, helping them achieve positive outcomes and prepare for life beyond education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support pupils with SEND, trauma backgrounds, and behavioural challenges
- Use assessment data to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies
- Promote social, emotional, and academic development using therapeutic approaches
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and specialist staff
Requirements
- Experience teaching vocational subjects, ideally Construction
- Proven experience working with pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
- QTS/QTLS (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in specialist settings
- Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
- Resilient, empathetic, and adaptable with a passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Commitment to safeguarding and professional standards
