Key Account & Employer Outreach Executive –  Engineering & Manufacturing Training Sector
 
A leading engineering training provider is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Key Account & Employer Outreach Executive to support continued growth across the engineering and manufacturing sector.
With multiple training centres across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, the organisation delivers high-quality engineering apprenticeships, higher education programmes, and commercial training solutions to hundreds of employer partners nationwide. Working closely with major employers across the sector, they are committed to developing engineering talent and supporting workforce development at both regional and national level.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales and relationship-management professional to join a well-established and respected training organisation within the engineering industry.
 
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing employer partnerships, generating new business opportunities, and managing key accounts across West Yorkshire and surrounding areas.
You will work closely with employers to understand workforce development needs and promote a broad portfolio of apprenticeship and commercial training solutions.
Key Responsibilities New Business Development

  • Identify and secure new employer partnerships within engineering and manufacturing sectors.
  • Generate new apprenticeship and commercial training opportunities.
  • Deliver tailored proposals and presentations to prospective clients.

Key Account Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing employer accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand training services across existing client bases.
  • Conduct regular account review meetings and workforce planning discussions.

Apprenticeships & Commercial Training

  • Promote a full range of apprenticeship and commercial training programmes.
  • Develop bespoke workforce development solutions for employers.
  • Support the management and development of national training contracts.

Employer Engagement

  • Attend networking events, exhibitions, and industry conferences.
  • Support employer outreach and engagement campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, marketing, and operational teams.

CRM & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline activity.
  • Track conversion rates, revenue performance, and business development activity.
  • Produce regular performance and account management reports.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in consultative sales and business development.
  • Skilled at developing long-term client relationships.
  • Organised, proactive, and target-driven.
  • Comfortable presenting to employers and stakeholders.
  • Passionate about skills development, apprenticeships, and workforce training.

Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing, apprenticeships, or training environments would be highly advantageous.
 
Essential Requirements

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between employer sites.
  • Commitment to health & safety and equality of opportunity.
  • Ability to successfully complete an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Business Administration.
  • Previous experience within education, apprenticeships, or training sales.
  • Experience using CRM systems and/or PICS software.
  • Experience supporting external events and employer engagement activities.
