Our client are Ofsted grade 2 and have 5,000+ active apprentices on program have been working in training for 30 years.
Role: Internal Quality Assurer/IQA (Hospitality & Retail)
Reports to: Lead Internal Quality Assurer
Location: Candidates will be based in either Wales, or Northern Ireland. The role is predominantly home based with travel across Northern Ireland and Wales once every 3 months. All travel, flights and hotels are paid for.
Salary: £31,637 (unqualified) £32,637 (qualified)
Candidate Background
My client are looking for either qualified IQA’s or will also consider apprenticeship trainer, or coaches who want to go into a quality role. You will be conducting quality checks for x9 Hospitality & Retail Trainers. Previous exposure working within these qualification areas, or competency to do so is required. The perfect candidates will have worked in retail and in a front of house hospitality environment and then gone on to work in apprenticeships & training as a Trainer/Coach, or IQA.
The Job
- To conduct quality assurance activities in line with the Quality Assurance Strategy
- Produce and maintain sampling plans based on risk and in line with the Quality Assurance strategy.
- Conduct observations in line with Quality Assurance strategy.
- Give clear, accurate and timely feedback to Reps both verbally and written, via Maytas and monthly reports.
- Identifying and facilitating best practice in line with delivery models
- Ensure all supporting quality assurance records comply with our Quality Assurance Procedures including Data Protection
- Lead standardisation activities to ensure accuracy and consistency of assessment decisions.
- Mentor and Support Assessment Staff to develop and comply with teaching and assessment standards.
- Understand the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of teaching, learning & assessment.
- Work closely with Line Managers to develop on-going development plans for individual Reps.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to identify strengths and areas for development within provision.
- Conducting learner and employer voice interviews
Person Specification
- Key Technical Skills / competencies within sector
- Experienced assessor
- Occupational expertise in line with appropriate assessment strategy
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Internal & External Verification standards.
- An understanding of how internal procedures conform to awarding organisation requirements.
Company / Industry Knowledge:
- Experienced qualified assessor – must hold relevant assessor qualification.
- Consistently maintains Green Grade as an assessor /trainer.
- Occupational expertise in line with the appropriate assessment strategy.
- Has maintained own comprehensive CPD.
- Has undertaken mentor roles and responsibilities.

- Verification Awards Desirable
- Teacher/Training qualifications (desirable)
- Functional Skills Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent
