Salary: £31,000
Location: Home-based with travel across Milton Keynes, Leamington Spa & Daventry (4 days remote / 1 day onsite)
Contract: Full time, permanent
Reports to: SEND / LDD Lead
Driving licence required (mileage paid)

Role Purpose The SEND Learning Support Coach plays a vital role in identifying, supporting and empowering apprentices with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN). You will act as a champion for inclusive learning, working closely with learners and delivery teams to remove barriers, implement support strategies, and drive learner success. This is a new and growing role and offers the opportunity to shape support across the automotive apprenticeship division.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial screening and diagnostic assessments for learners declaring SEND/ALN or LDD needs.
- Develop personalised Learner Support Plans and ensure timely implementation.
- Provide guidance and coaching to apprenticeship Trainers and Coaches to ensure learners receive appropriate support.
- Deliver internal training sessions on SEND awareness and inclusive practice.
- Work with learners on a 1:1 basis and complete scheduled review calls to monitor progress.
- Maintain a caseload of approx. 60 learners, ensuring high-quality support and compliance.
- Support with accurate and timely Learning Support Funding documentation and compliance.
- Collaborate with quality, compliance and delivery teams to ensure support strategies are embedded.
- Maintain accurate digital records and produce reports when required.
Candidate Profile Essential
- Teaching qualification Level 3 or above (AET/PTLLS or higher)
- Strong experience supporting learners with SEND/ALN — ideally within apprenticeships or work-based learning
- Experience in post-16 education (training provider or FE)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both learners and colleagues
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and manage remote workload
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
Desirable
- Experience supporting apprentices in a vocational setting
- Understanding of SEND Code of Practice and learning support funding
- Experience delivering CPD or internal training
